I Tre Merli's soccer fever rekindles at every important match. Hundreds of supporters gather in front of the megascreen to suffer and celebrate. At the beginning of December, the charming Candles Party is organized by I Tre Merli to greet the American and European friends. For this occasion, the restaurant is entirely lit by hundreds of candles, thus creating a surreal fantastic atmosphere. New Year's Eve at I Tre Merli has always been an important event too. An elaborate menu together with champagne in floods greet the New Year with a frenzy, music and dance. The famous Italian showman Renzo Arbore chose I Tre Merli for his New Year's New York-Rome live telecast. The Italian songwriter Lucio Della savoured our hospitality while working on his successful album Dall'America a Caruso. He was particularly fond of La Nicolay, a drink with ice-vodka served in tiny glasses with a slice of lemon garnished with sugar and coffee. After the toast glasses were smashed onto the slate floor to cheer good luck. that was to come.
